Potential Chronic Health Effects: CARCINOGENIC EFFECTS: Classified + Proven by Occupational Safety & Health Administration (US). Classified 2B (Possible for human.) by International Agency for Research on Cancer (UN). The substance is toxic to lungs, the nervous system, liver, mucous membranes, central nervous system. Repeated or prolonged exposure to the substance can produce target organs damage.

Other Toxic Effects on Humans: Very hazardous in case of eye contact (irritant), ingestion, or inhalation. Hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant, permeator). Inflammation of the eye is characterized by redness, watering, and itching.

Special Remarks on Chronic Effects on Humans: Human: passes through the placenta, excreted in maternal milk.

Products of Bio degradation: Possibly hazardous short term degradation products are not likely. However, long term degradation products may arise.

Toxicity of the Products of Bio degradation: The products of degradation are more toxic.

Methylene Chloride can be found in numerous consumer products available for purchase in North America including: spray shoe polish, water repellents, spot removers, wood floor and panel cleaners, adhesive removers, lubricants, wood stains, varnishes and finishes, paint strippers and graffiti removal products, rust removers, glass frosting/artificial snow, and some automotive parts cleaning products.
